“All of Me” by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons (Cover)
As much as I love studying Electrical and Computer Engineering, I need to breathe every once in a while. I had to oblige Jay Arella (lead singer of our ROFL band) when he asked to meet him after school to have a quick jam session. He has been itching to record this song for the longest time and asked if we could record it; I’m a perfectionist and told him “no promises.” However, after a couple tries, we did a take that we mutually found satisfactory. Of course, we let out the obligatory joyful exasperation at the end which is sighted in many of our videos. Jay’s really talented (and nowadays it’s hard to find people whose comfort repertoire lies in opera and big-band!) and his videos are starting to pick up a common video editing style. I’m really happy for him and the progress he’s making with his music. Nonetheless, with midterms out of the way, we had fun in this desperately-needed music session.
Get ready! Next project: Jay’s “Two Ways” band version!
